Services
We offer patients a comfortable, clean clinical environment and top notch services to promote good eye health and healthy vision at every stage of life.
COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMS
A comprehensive eye exam is similar to a yearly physical, but only involves the eyes. Regularly scheduled eye exams are important in maintaining good vision and eye health. Many vision and eye diseases can develop or progress without any symptoms, so early detection and treatment is critical in preventing vision loss.
We provide a thorough comprehensive eye exam that includes vision testing and ocular health examination to detect diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. We will determine how often you should have your eyes checked after your examination.
We are committed to improving our patient’s vision by using advanced technology, the latest treatment options, while combining it with personal care to meet each individual’s needs.
CONTACT LENS EXAMS
The contact lens exam includes all the components of our comprehensive examination (which includes an eyeglass prescription and checking overall eye health) in addition to determining the best contact lens that suits your lifestyle and needs.
Our doctors fit contact lenses that are designed to provide you with sharp vision, maximum comfort, and good eye health. We fit daily, extended-wear, astigmatism, bifocal, monovision, gas permeable (rigid) and colored contact lenses.
After your exam, you will go home wearing a sample contact lens. At your 1 week follow-up visit, you are given the contact lens prescription if we determine that the contact lenses are fitting properly and that you are satisfied with the vision and comfort. If this is your first time wearing contacts, we also provide training in proper lens care and instructions on inserting and removing the contact lens.

We offer same day urgent care should an eye emergency arise. Our doctors have the knowledge in the latest treatment options and have the equipment to manage your eye condition. We ensure that you are given the highest priority.

LASIK
LASIK (laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis) is a surgical procedure that involves reshaping the cornea with a laser to help improve eyesight.
While there are no doctors on the Big Island that perform LASIK surgery, our doctors work closely with Dr. Tyrie Jenkins in Honolulu. Our office provides you with the pre-operative care, which determines if you are a good candidate for the surgery. This includes testing your vision, mapping the shape of your cornea, measuring corneal thickness, and screening for eye diseases. All of the data we gather are sent to Dr. Jenkins and we assist in coordinating your surgical consultation.
After your surgery, you return to our office for several follow-up visits to ensure your eyes are healing properly and that you are satisfied with your vision. This is usually done at intervals of 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after the procedure.
